Pizza ai lumache

For the life of me, I can't figure out why nobody has thought of this combination before, because it's the best of both worlds: Pizza and escargots, more commonly known as snails! 

 
Ingredients:         
  • 250 grams ( ½ lb.) of pizza dough (there are several recipes on the Net for home made dough, but you can buy very good ready made or easy to make dough...just check out your local super market)
  • a can of snails (about 200 grams)
  • some tomato paste
  • mushrooms
  • black olives
  • garlic cloves
  • some capers
  • Mozarella cheese
  • oregano
Preparation: 

Prepare the dough according to the instructions, spread the tomato paste onto the dough, then add the mushrooms, the olives, garlic cloves, capers and oregano. Cut the Mozarella into slices and put on top of the other toppings. The quantity of the ingredients is up to you. Just one final comment: Mushrooms are soft and therefore hard to cut into even slices...Solution: Use an egg slicer! You'll have thin, even slices in no time. Bake in a preheated oven of 180º-200ºC or 350º-390ºF for about 20 minutes (but always check the instructions that come with the pizza dough).

Serves...well this is *one* pizza...
